2018 GP Advantage FAQs

How do I purchase tickets?

When tickets are on-sale, tickets can be purchased through the following channels:

*The Grand Prix Ticketmaster Booking Line is open from 0900 – 2000 (AEST and AEDT), Monday to Saturday and 0900 – 1700 on Sunday (excluding public holidays).

Tickets are also available through our travel partners, Grand Prix Travel with ticket and accommodation packages available.

When is the event taking place?

The 2018 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix dates are yet to be confirmed. Once confirmed, current ticket purchasers will be sent an email and the dates will be shown on our website.

How do I become a GP Advantage member in 2018?

To become a GP Advantage member you must purchase a Four Day grandstand ticket or Three Champions grandstand ticket prior to the end of the membership period and you will automatically become a GP Advantage member. If you do not purchase during the dates below, you cannot upgrade to become a GP Advantage member.

  • GP Advantage Gold membership - 09.00am 1 May – 11.59pm 31 July 2017 (AEST)
  • GP Advantage Silver membership - 00.00am 1 August – 11.59pm 30 Nov 2017 (AEST)
When does GP Advantage go on-sale for 2018?

There are several different on-sale periods for the GP Advantage membership program, these are:

  • Save Your Seat - 1 – 14 May 2017
  • Preferential seat - 15 – 31 May 2017*
  • Public on-sale - 1 June 2017*

What is a Four Day Grandstand ticket?

The Four Day grandstand ticket is a reserved seated grandstand ticket for Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event. The ticket also includes access to roaming grandstand seats on Thursday, allowing you to access any grandstand around the circuit.

What is the Three Champions Grandstand ticket?

The Three Champions grandstand ticket is a reserved seated grandstand ticket in three different grandstands each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event. The name of the Three Champions grandstand ticket indicates which grandstand you will be sitting in on the Sunday of the event.

The Three Champions grandstand ticket also includes access to roaming grandstand seats on Thursday, allowing you to access any grandstand around the circuit.

What does Roaming Grandstand mean?

Roaming grandstand means that you are able to access and experience any grandstand around the track to enjoy the fantastic and unique view lines that each grandstand can offer. You will be able to sit in any grandstand seat that is available. 

The Roaming grandstand ticket offer is only available on Thursday. It comes complimentary for customers who purchase a Four-Day or Three Champions Grandstand ticket and can be purchased once tickets go on-sale.

What is 'Save Your Seat'?

2017 members’ will have the opportunity to secure the same seat/s that they had in 2017 for the 2018 event. Members will be sent an email advising them when they can purchase their seat/s. Members can purchase on-line or through our call centre.

The Save Your Seat period has now closed. 2019 Save Your Seat period will be confirmed closer to next year’s event.

I am a 2017 GP Advantage member, how do i save my seat?

What is the age of a child in a grandstand?

Children tickets are available in all grandstands. These prices apply to children, who as of Thursday of the event are between two and fourteen (2-14) years of age inclusive.

Infants less than two (2) years of age are permitted to enter the grandstand free of charge as long as they do not take up a dedicated seat.

If you require a seat for your infant you will be required to purchase a ticket for them for the seat they will occupy. 

Are there Concession tickets for GP Advantage and Grandstands?

No. Grandstands are only available with Adult and Children ticket prices.

I need to change the type of ticket I have as I am no longer a child, how do I do this?

To change your ticket type from a child to an adult, you need to contact our Grand Prix Ticketmaster booking line. Please click here for contact details and operating hours.

What is ‘preferential seat’?

For 2017 members’ who did not purchase their tickets during the ‘Save Your Seat’ period, they will have the opportunity to purchase new tickets in a different location. All seats that have not been purchased during the ‘Save Your Seat’ period will be released to purchase for other members to buy during this period. Members can purchase on-line or through our call centre on 1800 100 030.

Preferential seat is available from Monday 15 May – Wednesday 31 May 2017*.

Does my Membership automatically roll over each year?

GP Advantage membership does not automatically roll over each year. To renew your membership you must purchase a Four Day or Three Champions grandstand ticket in the nominated period to become a member for the following year.

What are the benefits of becoming a GP Advantage member in 2018?

How do I purchase tickets to attend the GP Advantage Party?

We are currently planning the details for next year’s GP Advantage Party. An invitation will be sent to GP Advantage members once these have been confirmed with the opportunity to purchase tickets to attend.

What is “early Melbourne Walk access” within the benefits?

By becoming a GP Advantage member, you get the opportunity to gain early access to the circuit on selected days before the general public. The selected days are dependent on the type of membership you have. Accessing the circuit before the public gives you the prime opportunity to position yourself strategically within Melbourne Walk and take full advantage of this unique interaction with F1® drivers as they arrive on track.

What is a payment plan?

A payment plan is only available when purchasing a GP Advantage membership. You will be able to pay your tickets in three (3) monthly instalments.

When will I receive my GP Advantage membership ticket?

For those that choose to have their tickets sent to them, tickets will be sent via Australia Post from November 2017 for GP Advantage Gold members and from January 2018 for GP Advantage Silver members. Tickets will only be sent once full payment has been received. If there is a change in expected delivery time, this will be communicated to you via email.

Where can I collect my GP Advantage tickets on track?

If you choose to collect your GP Advantage tickets on track, these will be able to be collected from Gate 1 ticket box office only on event days. The confirmation on dates and times will confirmed closer to the event.

Since I have purchased my ticket, my contact details have changed. How can I update my details?

You have the ability to manage your account and update any of your details at any time. From change of address, email or phone number you can log into your account by clicking HERE and update your details accordingly. 

What happens if I lose my GP Advantage membership ticket?

Contact the Grand Prix Ticketmaster hotline on 1800 100 030 with your purchase details. Your original tickets will be cancelled. Depending on when the tickets have been reported missing, tickets will either be sent out to you or made available for collection from the GP Advantage ticket office on event days. A fee may be charged for the re-issuing of your tickets.

Can I upgrade my ticket from Silver to Gold?

Tickets cannot be upgraded. To become a GP Advantage Gold member, you must purchase your ticket during the GP Advantage Gold period from 09.00am 1 May – 11.59pm 31 July 2017 (AEST).

Can I become a GP Advantage member if I purchase after 30 November 2017?

GP Advantage Membership is only available for Four Day or Three Champions grandstand tickets if purchased before 11.59pm 30 November 2017 (AEDT). There is no opportunity to upgrade to GP Advantage after this date.

Can I pick my own seats?

Yes. If you are purchasing online, you can select your own seats if you are purchasing a Four Day grandstand ticket. If you want to pick your own seats and want to purchase a Three Champions grandstand ticket, please contact our Grand Prix Ticketmaster hotline on 1800 100 030.

Fangio, Brabham and Jones Four Corner Packages

Four Corner packages from the 2017 event have changed for the 2018 event to a Three-Champions package. Your Sunday grandstand and seat remains the same with changes being made to Friday and Saturday with a roaming grandstand seat Thursday which allows you to access any grandstand.

Clark Four Corner package

The original Clark 4-corner package you had for 2017 has been replaced with the Three Champions package that was introduced at this year’s event, which does not include Clark grandstand anymore. Your Clark 4-corner package is now the Clark 4 Day package. Therefore, your Sunday seat you had will be the same seat for Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a roaming grandstand seat on Thursday. The Thursday Roaming Grandstand allows you to experience the on-track action from a different vantage point in any grandstand on Thursday with an unreserved roaming grandstand seat.
