Chris Tarrant – former AFL footballer

Born in Numurkah in September 1980, Chris Tarrant played for his local football club, South Mildura, from an early age and moved to Bendigo in 1996 to pursue an AFL scholarship.

He then made his AFL debut for Collingwood in round three of the 1998 season against the Western Bulldogs and went on to play a massive 268 AFL games during his career. After his 196 game haul for Collingwood, he went on to play 72 games for Freemantle. He scored 367 career goals and was selected in the All Australian team in 2003.

Tarrant is most famous for his spectacular high-marking and remarkable athleticism, making it no surprise that he was the winner of AFL Mark of the Year in 2003 and a Grand Final representative in 2002, 2003 and 2011. After a magnificent career, Chris decided to hand up the boots at the end of the 2012 season. Tarrant is a competitive animal and is one to watch for a podium spot in the Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge.
