Jonathan LaPaglia - Actor

Jonathan was born in South Australia and graduated from University of Adelaide with a degree in medicine. Changing career paths, Jonathan decided he wanted to be an actor, moving to NYC and catching his first break in 1996 when he joined the cast of TV show New York Undercover. From 1998 until 2001 he played the role of Lt. Frank B. Parker on the science fiction series Seven Days. Afterwards, he played Detective Kevin Debreno, on The District from 2001–2004. Jonathan has also guest starred in numerous series including The Sopranos, NCIS, Cold Case, Bones, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Castle.

His first appearance in Australian television was for portraying the lead role of Hector in the adaptation of Christos Tsiolkas' novel The Slap, produced by Matchbox Pictures for ABC TV. His second role in an Australian production was the title character of real life crime boss Anthony "Rooster" Perish, produced by Screentime for Nine Network’s Underbelly: Badness.

In Australia he has received the 2012 Equity Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Cast in a Drama Series for The Slap, as well as a nomination for the 2011 AACTA Awards (Australian Academy of Cinema & Television) for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama, also for The Slap.
