Magdalena Roze – Channel Ten presenter

Magdalena Roze is a television presenter, award-winning journalist and meteorologist. Magdalena has reported live from the studio and the front-lines in extreme circumstances, including breaking national news of the biggest weather events and natural disasters in our country’s recent history-from bushfires to floods, from cyclones to drought.

In 2010 she accepted the ASTRA Award for Best News Coverage for the Weather Channel’s reporting of the Black Saturday bushfires, and in 2011 was nominated for both Best News Coverage and Most Outstanding Performance by a Broadcast Journalist. She hosted the documentary Black Saturday–One Year On and provided meteorological expertise in “Forecast for Disaster: La Nina Strikes” (The Weather Channel).

Magdalena joined TEN News in October 2011 as a meteorologist and journalist for the National Weekend News. 2012 was a busy year for Magdalena - as well as becoming the weather presenter on TEN’s new Breakfast program, Magdalena regularly co-hosts The Project and was part of TEN’s presenting team for the 2012 Olympics in London. Flying under the radar with her modest attitude towards the upcoming race, don’t be surprised if Magdelena makes her way to the front of the pack at this year’s Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge.

Have you attended a F1 before?
Yes, 2012 Melbourne, it was absolutely incredible, Formula 1 is the sexiest sport there is. It's the ultimate in athletic ability, technology, endurance and team work with amazing cars on top of that!

What made you decide to participate in the M6CC?
I really love motorsport so it seemed like the opportunity of a lifetime. At the same time though, I'm terrified as I'm not the most skilled or confident driver. I'm really going out of my comfort zone to take this challenge.

Where do you think you will place?
Unless I have a Steven Bradbury moment, I will probably be in the bottom half.
