Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation joined forces with Mazda Australia to bring the inaugural Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge to the 2013 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix. The Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge driver training got underway at Sandown Raceway with the group of celebrities all itching to get behind the wheel of the All-New Mazda6.

Mark Skaife and his team from Skaife Racing were given the task of teaching the novice race car drivers all the skills required from breaking and reaction skills to key principles of line and length which teaches a race car driver how to approach a corner, where to enter a corner and how to exit with the most efficiency.

The 21 Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge drivers then took to the world famous Albert Park circuit and put their new racing skills to the test for practice and qualifying sessions followed by 3 races.

The results can be seen below, however the stand out participant was Australian Cricketer Brad Hodge who won all 3 races over the event.

The Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge brought together celebrities from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines to race at the 2013 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
