Alex Davison has become the third separate winner in the Porsche Carrera Cup class at the 2017 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
Today's final 10-lap race saw Davison easily claim the chequered flag with two seconds to spare over early leader and race three winner Cameron McConville, followed by Andre Heimgartner in third.
Passing was at a premium in the final stoush, with Davison's lap four pass on McConville the most decisive move.
Nick McBride, who won the opening two races, was fourth ahead of David Wall, Jaxon Evans, Dylan O'Keefe, Michael Almond, Lars Kern and James Abela. All 16 cars that began the Albert Park campaign – the 100th Porsche Carrera Cup round – on Thursday completed today's race.
McConville and McBride both finished the weekend on 315pts, but McConville was awarded top sport courtesy of his higher finish in the final race. Davison (288pts) finished in third overall from Heimgartner (278) and O'Keefe (218).
In the Challenge class for the semi-professional drivers, Stephen Grove was the overall winner from Mat Palmer and Dean Cook.
The 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup continues at Phillip Island from May 26-28.
