Cameron McConville has celebrated his first win in the Porsche Carrera Cup ranks at the 2017 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.
The former Supercars driver was in front for all 10 laps of race three, as he opened his Carrera Cup winning account with a 0.75-second victory over Alex Davison.
Race one and two winner Nick McBride was third, ahead of Dylan O'Keefe, David Wall, Jaxon Evans, Andre Heimgartner and Michael Almond.
Heimgartner actually crossed the finish line in fourth position, but he was bumped back to seventh after he received a five-second penalty from race stewards.
Heimgartner came into Albert Park sharing the lead in the 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup with Wall.
Davison was the big mover in race three, slicing his way through from fourth position in the space of two laps – but he left his run just a little too late to really pile the pressure on McConville.
Race four will be held at 1:50pm on Sunday.
