Just three weeks to go now and GP HQ and the Albert Park site are hives of activity.
While our engineering and operations team had their hands full investigating the feasibility of installing rain-simulating sprinklers around the Albert Park track (no, not really), our communications team was busy spreading the word about the wonders of the Australian Grand Prix.
The Giant Helmet ended its run at City Square and transited down the road to take its place at our Interactive Zone at Southern Cross Station (March 2-8). If you’re one of those who has yet to venture into the helmet for fear of being sold something – fear not! The helmet is like a little – but information-packed – interactive Formula 1 museum. We promise a clipboard-wielding sales team won’t ambush you when you set foot over the threshold!
While you’re at the Interactive Zone, make sure you also check out our amazing augmented reality ‘Configurator’ that puts you behind the wheel of a virtual Formula 1 car, and our F1 simulators, which put you in the driving seat around the Albert Park circuit. This week we set out on a quest to find the enthusiastic-looking fan in the yellow rain jacket from last year’s Grand Prix (if you know who he is, or you are him, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
In a fit of generosity, we also launched a competition to give away an F1 two-seater ride. If you haven’t already entered, ‘follow’ us on Twitter http://twitter.com/#!/ausgrandprix, ‘like’ us on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/australiangrandprix, and describe in 25 words or fewer the moment you fell in love with the Australian Grand Prix to be in with a chance of winning. Email your entries to email@example.com and click here http://www.grandprix.com.au/win/current-competitions/facebook-two-seater-formula-1-car-ride-giveaway/ for full terms and conditions.
Not long to go now race fans!
