All Aussie Line-up Set To Entertain Music Fans

The very best in Australian music will be showcased at the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix, with former Powderfinger front man Bernard Fanning headlining the weekend’s entertainment. Fanning will take to the ‘Sounds on the Circuit’ stage following Formula 1® Qualifying with a concert free for all Saturday ticket holders. His appearance trackside will wrap up a successful run of shows for The Departure Tour where he showcased his latest album which included hit single Battleships. Fans can also look forward to hearing older favourites such as Wish You Well and Songbird.

Aria-award winning and multi-platinum artist, Megan Washington, has been secured to warm up the crowd ahead of Fanning’s performance. With her first single in two years due to be released any day, and a new album just around the corner, Washington is a huge drawcard for music lovers with her modern take on indie pop and alternative rock.

Ahead of the main race on Sunday, one of Australia’s greatest, best-loved and most enduring rock bands – the legendary Hoodoo Gurus will be on hand to rev up racegoers with a number of their classic hits. A favourite on the Aussie rock scene for more than three decades, fans can expect to hear crowd pleasing tracks such as I Want You back, Miss Freelove ’69, Like Wow – Wipeout!, The Right Time and Bittersweet, among many other well-known releases.

But the first class line-up does not finish there, with Australian alternative rock band, You Am I, also performing Sunday afternoon at Albert Park. You Am I, fronted by vocalist and guitarist Tim Rogers, is the first Australian band to have ever released three successive albums that have debuted at number one on the Aria Charts, with the band receiving ten Aria awards since inception. You Am I have an impressive track record, supporting bands such as The Who, The Rolling Stones and Oasis on international tours.

Attendees of the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix will be treated to a great mix of both up-and-coming and seasoned local music talent. Across the weekend the following artists will also be on hand to entertain the crowds: Vaudeville Smash, Where's Joss?, Ian Bank, My Lasting Reply, Lurch and Chief, Chris Doheny, Johnny Wonderpants, Ross Wilson, Jason Singh, Zoophyte, Jason Singh Duo, Rockefeller Duo and Divine Audio (DJ).
