Australian Grand Prix to feel the G-force

31 MAR - 03 APR 2016

Georgia Geminder has today been announced as the Official Ambassador of the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

Recently named in the Herald Sun’s annual New Year’s Day ‘Who to watch...’ feature, and with an overseas move imminent to take on the US modelling market, the flame-haired beauty is set to make her mark in 2014.

Geminder is no stranger to the spotlight coming from a family which is one of the largest private sources of philanthropy in Australia – her grandfather being prominent Melbourne businessman, the late Richard Pratt.

Born and raised in Melbourne, the 20-year-old has a huge passion for her home town and she can’t wait to celebrate all it has to offer at this year’s event.

“The opportunity to represent Melbourne and in turn Australia at this truly global event is a real honour. The schedule for the next month will be action-packed and I can’t wait,” Geminder said.

“Melbourne has so many attractions, and when it comes to international sporting events we’re undoubtedly spoilt for choice, but for me the Australian Grand Prix takes pride of place on Victoria’s Major Events Calendar.”

Geminder’s striking good looks scored her a coveted contract with Chadwick Model Management in 2010, and since then she has been in high demand both locally and overseas. She has brains as well as beauty, working on a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Criminology at Monash University.

As part of her ambassadorial duties, Geminder will welcome drivers, international celebrities and guests visiting Melbourne for the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix, she will also host the exclusive GP@23 Party at Crown’s Club23 on Wednesday 12 March.

Geminder will have the chance to experience life in the fast lane when she’s a passenger in the Swisse two-seater Formula 1® car, which will complete a hot-lap around the Albert Park circuit during the event. The car will reach speeds of up to 300/km hour.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO, Andrew Westacott, said Geminder is perfectly suited to be the face of the event.

“Georgia has a delightful, vibrant personality, as well as an obvious enthusiasm for Melbourne. When I first met her I knew immediately she would not only be a great fit for Formula One, but the ideal person to help show off this great city to the world,” Westacott said.
