Pick of the new crop of drivers is Pastor Maldonado of Venezuela, who has replaced Nico Hülkenberg at Williams. Maldonado, 25, made history in 2010 as the first driver to win six straight GP2 feature races.
New regulations for this year: F-ducts are out, as are double diffusers, but moveable rear wings are allowed.
Look out for ‘new’ teams like Lotus Renault – the first time we have seen that combination since the fabled days of the black-and-gold Lotus campaigned by Senna in the Eighties.
Look out, too, for young Aussie Daniel Ricciardo making his debut as ‘Friday driver’ for Scuderia Toro Rosso.
