The 2011 Formula 1™ Qantas Australian Grand Prix and Lexus Australia are pleased to announce an initiative for the Red Cross Victorian Floods Appeal 2011 by auctioning a drive in the Lexus CT 200h Celebrity Challenge via eBay.
The auction offers the highest bidder the opportunity to participate in the thrills of racing on the Albert Park circuit and mingle among celebrity competitors. This is a truly once in a lifetime opportunity.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Red Cross Victorian Floods Appeal to support individuals, families and communities in areas affected by the flood damage.
In response to this devastating natural disaster, the Victorian Government recently launched the Red Cross Victorian Floods Appeal 2011 to assist those in need, appointing the Australian Grand Prix Corporation’s own Mr. Ron Walker as chair.
“We are honoured to extend our unwavering support to the wider Victorian community who have been so deeply impacted by this shocking natural disaster. It is with the generous help of our friends at Lexus Australia that we hope to raise funds to assist those affected by this tragedy,” said Mr. Walker.
Tony Cramb, Chief Executive of Lexus Australia agreed, “Lexus Australia is pleased to join forces with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation in supporting the Victorian Flood appeal via the auction of a drive in the Celebrity Challenge. Together we aim to raise not just community awareness of the disaster, but much needed funds for the recovery."
Supporting this cause will assist numerous Victorians to recover and re-establish their lives that have been thrown into turmoil by such widespread damage.
