German Grand Prix - Round 10

31 MAR - 03 APR 2016

Venue: Nűrburgring
Circuit Length: 5.148 km
Laps: 60
Lap Record: 1:29.468 = 207.144 km/h M. Schumacher (Ferrari) 2004 (GP of Europe)

Runaway leader Seb Vettel has yet to win his home Grand Prix: he was second in `09 on this circuit on the memorable day when Mark Webber won for the first time, and third last year at Hockenheim.

Will the German continue to run away from the field? Fernando Alonso broke the Red Bull spell with Ferrari’s first win of 2011 at Silverstone and is now just 12 points adrift of Webber in third place.

Mark was on pole at the Ring in `09 with a 1:32.230; fastest race lap went to Alonso, then with Renault, on 1:33.365.

The vexed question of engine mapping and changes between qualifying and race seems to have been resolved: as in Valencia, no such changes are allowed.

Daniel Ricciardo gets his second crack at racing in F1 with HRT – he gave himself a 22nd birthday present by bringing the unfancied machine home 19th first time out at Silverstone.
