Harris on pole in Lexus Celebrity Challenge

31 MAR - 03 APR 2016

Skateboarding wiz Corbin Harris has produced a heady qualifying performance to claim pole position for the Lexus Celebrity Challenge at the 2011 Formula 1 Qantas Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

Harris was easily the fastest driver on the Albert Park F1 circuit, producing a searing best lap of 1min57.5400secs, well in front of NFL punter Saverio Rocca and ironman Shannon Eckstein.

Bondi vet Chris Brown was fourth, with an actor (Callan Mulvey), former NRL player (Luke Ricketson), singer (Brian McFadden) and radio presenter (Ross Stevenson) rounding out the top four rows.

Stevenson set the pace in yesterday’s wet practice session, ahead of Rocca and Ricketson.

Meanwhile, television presenter Lauren Phillips will be holding up the field in 28th position for the two races this weekend, with the field aboard Lexus’ all-new CT200h hybrid sports hatch, which has just been launched in Australia.

There will be two winners in this weekend’s races – for the traditional first past the post, and another for the driver who uses the least amount of fuel in an ‘economy’ challenge.

Race one will be held at 12:45pm on Saturday.
