Racing reached new heights at the Albert Park circuit yesterday, with Jet Pack Man launching into a drag race against a Renault Megane RS along Lakeside Drive.
With a 50 kilogram jetpack strapped to his back and powered by a combination of liquid fuel, gas and steam, Jet Pack Man propelled to speeds of approximately 100km/h and a height of 50 metres.
Ironically, it was the Renault Magane RS that got the jump on Jet Pack Man who launched upwards before propelling forward and flying up and over the Qantas overpass towards the checkered flag.
Whilst the tight confines of an F1 circuit often restrict overtaking between cars, Jet Pack Man showcased a novel way of overtaking competitors by flying straight over the top, something we haven’t seen at Albert Park since Martin Brundle’s spectacular crash in 1996!
Fans can witness Jet Pack Man during his daily performances in the Action Zone.
