Round 3 Preview - 2011 Chinese Grand Prix

EVENT COUNTDOWN

ALBERT PARK

12-15 MARCH 2015

15 - 17 April 2011

Venue: Shanghai
Circuit Length: 5.451 Km
Laps: 56
Lap Record: 1:32.238 = 212.749 km/h - M. Schumacher (Ferrari) 2004

This is the 8th Chinese GP: Ferrari have won three, McLaren two – no driver has won it twice

Last year it was a McLaren 1-2 for Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton with Nico Rosberg third for Mercedes

Shanghai was the scene of the first Red Bull Racing 1-2 for Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber in 2009 – last year they were 6th and 8th respectively despite locking out the front row of the grid

Red Bull go to Shanghai with a grip on both Championships: Vettel has a perfect 50 after winning the opening two rounds, the team has 72 to be 22 clear of McLaren at this stage

Can Ferrari start to bridge the serious gap between them and the two front-running teams? They have only half as many points as Red Bull…

Can Mercedes find any pace – or will Renault continue to be the main chasers?
