What a week! We put on our best poker faces as Melbourne speculated about the prospect of Mark Webber driving a Formula 1 car across the Bolte Bridge. By Thursday we were very excited to confirm that the Aussie will ‘Mark’ his homecoming by driving his Red Bull over the iconic Melbourne landmark – at a top speed of 100kph of course.
You’re all invited to come down to Waterfront City at Melbourne’s Docklands on March 19 to watch the Red Bull Run on the giant screen, listen to the roar of the engine overhead on the bridge and welcome Mark home. We’ll see you there at 9.45am on Saturday!
We launched our new iPhone & iPad app to five-star reviews from iTunes customers and experts in the Blogosphere. Click here to see the reviews.
If you haven’t downloaded the app from iTunes yet it’s free and features results, maps, news, photos and a fab event planner that helps you map out your days at Albert Park. It’s the perfect Grand Prix companion and it’s ready to download now.
Good news for Android users too. We’ve enhanced our mobile website – just navigate to www.grandprix.com.au via your handset’s browser.
The Giant Helmet’s tour of Melbourne continues this weekend with the Australian Grand Prix ‘skid lid’ taking its place at Top Gear Live at Melbourne Showgrounds from March 11-14. If you’re at the event this weekend come and check out our fabulous Formula 1 mini-museum and interactive centre and say hi to the friendly Australian Grand Prix staff within. We’ll talk motorsport to you all day and night.
