Vettel: Reliability the key

Defending World Champion Sebastian Vettel is not getting too carried away with the pace of the RB7. Rather believing that reliability will always be the key to success.

Vettel and Red Bull are tipped to be the ones to beat this year after impressing during pre-season testing.

"I felt immediately at home in our new car and it has shown excellent performance and reliability at all four tests," he told the official Formula One web site.

"Reliability, as always is the key to success, as it doesn’t help to have a car that is one second quicker than the rest but never finishes the race. The fact is, that it is easier to make a fast car reliable than a reliable car fast, and we all know that the car we start a season with is not the car we finish with, so the second key to success is to constantly improve. We will get new parts at every race so our development speed should give us a break."

Vettel also insisted that the car feels good and believes that reliability is there. "What is true is that the car feels good and the reliability is there."

The World Champion was also quick to point out that he would not change his approach now that he is defending World Champion.

This year’s Formula One season is set to be the most exciting with five World Champions in the field. It all kicks off with the 2011 Formula 1™ Qantas Australian Grand Prix next Sunday.
