The new superstar of the sport, Max arrived with a bang and has continued to produce explosions. Few argue with those who have forecast that the young Dutchman is a champion of the future.

After a year with Toro Rosso, he was promoted after only four races of the 2017 season to partner Ricciardo in the Red Bull Racing team. On debut, at the Spanish Grand Prix, he won – to become the youngest winner of all time.

His daring racing and aggressive attitude transformed the Red Bull Racing team. He went on to collect six more podium finishes including arguably the drive of the season in Brazil where he mastered the treacherous conditions in torrential rain.

All of this made him a fans’ favourite and brought a new ‘orange army’ of Dutch supporters to the races. Their enthusiasm and colour was welcome and added to the lustre of Max’s meteoric rise.

Max was a schoolboy of 16 when he was first linked with an F1® drive. He was 17 when he became an F1® racing driver. And, in his first season, he finished 12th in the world championship.

He was the youngest and least experienced driver to join the grid in F1® history. He was fourth in two races and he scored a total of 49 points.

His father is Dutchman Jos Verstappen, a journeyman F1® racer of the 1990’s. His mother is Sophie Kumpen, a very successful and fast kart driver.

His talent and his maturity are almost unprecedented. His potential seems limitless. He has been linked already with Ferrari. Yet he was not old enough to drive a road car when the 2016 season began.

Now 19, he looks towards a future that many have forecast will see him win races, titles and a place among the greats.
