F1 fever hits Bendigo

The 2012 Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix is set to take Bendigo by storm when the F1 Swisse Two-Seater cars zoom into town to put on a spectacular show for locals before the Bendigo International Madison Criterium on Friday 9 March, 2012.

Local residents and spectators of the Madison event will witness wheels of a different kind when the F1 cars take to the streets of Bendigo to give locals a feel for the adrenalin that is synonymous with Formula One.

2012 Media Go Kart Challenge

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation held its third annual Media Go Kart Challenge this week. The night is always full of friendly competition with the spills on the track providing much entertainment for all in attendance, not to mention a talking point in news rooms for the days following!

Congratulations to the Age’s Ashley Crawford for taking out line honours (and bragging rights) at this year’s event. The Herald Sun’s Cameron Tandy and Craig Duff took out second and third respectively. Watch the vid to check out all the action!

Ricciardo emotional at STR launch

As the sun set on the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in southern Spain on Monday evening, the spotlight turned to the Scuderia Toro Rosso garage as team sponsor CEPSA hosted the unveiling of the STR7. Taking the wraps off the new car that will defend the team’s colours in this year’s Formula 1 World Championship were the team’s drivers, Aussie Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne.

Sahara Force India unveils the VJM05 at Silverstone

Sahara Force India unveiled its 2012 challenger today as Paul Di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg pulled the covers off the VJM05 at Silverstone. They were joined by reserve driver, Jules Bianchi, as the team’s new car was presented for the first time.

The VJM05 is the second car to be created under the watch of Technical Director, Andrew Green, as the team seeks to build on its on its sixth place finish in the constructors’ championship and take the fight to the teams that lie ahead.

Murphy announced as Motorsport Ambassador

Four time Bathurst1000 winner Greg Murphy will be adding to his impressive motorsport résumé with his appointment as the official Motorsport Ambassador for the 2012 Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix, announced today.

Immersed in the world of motorsport since the age of eight, Murphy will provide a credible and respected voice across the event as he interacts with event-goers and takes part in a host of exciting activities in his ambassadorial role.

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation is pleased to announce Kate Peck as the Ambassador of the 2012 Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix.

The stunning Melbourne raised model has taken the international modelling scene by storm since landing in the top ten as a contestant in the hit series “Search for a Supermodel”.
