Like Father, Like...Daughter At Remotivated Williams

Williams Martini Racing is on the up-and-up – and one of F1’s most-loved teams now has a strong feminine and family component in its make-up. Tim Collings reports.

One year on and Claire Williams sits in the Albert Park paddock with a smile on her face -- and a sharp one-liner on her tongue.

After a tumultuous twelve months for her and the eponymous team, founded by her father Sir Frank Williams, she has every right to do so.

Maiden Pole For Caruso In MSS Security V8 Supercars Challenge

Nissan’s numbers added up to an unexpected top spot, as Mark Fattore reports

Michael Caruso has snared a well-deserved pole position for Nissan in the MSS Security V8 Supercar Challenge at the 2014 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park, where he will be joined on the front row of the grid for race one by Holden’s Shane Van Gisbergen.

After setting the pace in practice, Caruso soon demonstrated he had the speed and temperament to remain at the pointy end in qualifying.

Food For Thought From F1 Presser

Tim Collings picks the bones out of the first official FIA Press Conference ahead of Sunday’s 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

Set-piece news conferences are often notoriously lacking in one vital ingredient: news.

Drivers and teams are reluctant to reveal anything to their rivals or start a media feeding frenzy -- especially at the start of a new season.

Despite that there were a few eyebrow-raising moments and some broad grins during Thursday's official talking session ahead of this weekend's season-opener.

Good Thursday appeals to the Community

Glorious sunshine swept over Albert Park as an estimated 63,800 fans flooded in for Community Day at the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix to show their support for The Royal Children’s Hospital - Good Friday Appeal.

Community Day saw many fans take advantage of the free entry offered and in return they dug deep to make donations to the volunteers who were raising money for the Good Friday Appeal which is the Official Charity of the event.

When you’re hot, you’re hot – and Warren Luff’s on fire, as Mark Fattore reports

In-form Warren Luff has qualified on pole position for the Porsche Carrera Cup program at the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.

Fresh from a clean sweep in the opening round of the championship at the Clipsal 500 two weeks ago – three wins from as many outings -- Luff maintained his competitive edge in the 20-minute qualifying session.

Dust Off The Dirt And Go Again

Lewis Hamilton has a new car and a new look as his eighth season in Formula 1 kicks off, writes Tim Collings.

New season, new formula, new Mercedes car, new haircut: Lewis Hamilton cannot claim he has not prepared well for Sunday's 2014Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix, the first round of this year's all-new World Championship.

'We Might Just Get Lucky'

Few sports can boast a tradition as rich as motor racing’s – and few sports can say that Australians have been at the very forefront of a World Championship.

Jack Brabham and Alan Jones were, in 1966 (Brabham’s third title) and 1980 respectively, and patrons at the 2014 Formula One Rolex Australian Grand Prix will be able to admire the cars that carried those two great Australians to the top of the world.

Jack Brabham was being very modest about his team’s prospects in the 1966 Formula 1 World Championship.
