ALBERT PARK

12-15 MARCH 2015

Question & Answer with Pastor Maldonado

Pastor Maldonado from the Williams Formula One team was kind enough to answer some of our "hard hitting" questions, for our latest driver Question and Answer post.

What is your favourite part of the Albert Park circuit?

Albert Park looks like an amazing track but I have only driven it on our race simulator. I really like the track as it is a street circuit, and that kind of circuit really suits my driving style. My favourite parts are the first corner and  the quick chicane out the back of the circuit.

Two weeks' to go

What a week! We put on our best poker faces as Melbourne speculated about the prospect of Mark Webber driving a Formula 1 car across the Bolte Bridge. By Thursday we were very excited to confirm that the Aussie will ‘Mark’ his homecoming by driving his Red Bull over the iconic Melbourne landmark – at a top speed of 100kph of course.

Alonso: McLaren can't be written off

Former McLaren driver Fernando Alonso has said that McLaren can't be written off heading into the 2011 season, despite a poor pre-season. Alonso has insisted that McLaren shouldn't be under estimated with the new MP4-26.

McLaren have had a difficult start to pre-season testing with Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton both struggling in Barcelona.

A poor pre-season has traditionally spelled a troubled season for teams. With the 2009 season a prime example for McLaren.
