Luff Takes Pole For Carrera Cup

When you’re hot, you’re hot – and Warren Luff’s on fire, as Mark Fattore reports

In-form Warren Luff has qualified on pole position for the Porsche Carrera Cup program at the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.

Fresh from a clean sweep in the opening round of the championship at the Clipsal 500 two weeks ago – three wins from as many outings -- Luff maintained his competitive edge in the 20-minute qualifying session.

GP@23 Party

'We Might Just Get Lucky'

Few sports can boast a tradition as rich as motor racing’s – and few sports can say that Australians have been at the very forefront of a World Championship.

Jack Brabham and Alan Jones were, in 1966 (Brabham’s third title) and 1980 respectively, and patrons at the 2014 Formula One Rolex Australian Grand Prix will be able to admire the cars that carried those two great Australians to the top of the world.

Jack Brabham was being very modest about his team’s prospects in the 1966 Formula 1 World Championship.

Rosberg Reckons Inner Calm Could Help

A chance encounter in a busy airport may have helped German driver Nico Rosberg put the 2014 season start in perspective, writes Tim Collings.

Nico Rosberg may call upon the calm inspiration of the Dalai Lama to soothe frayed nerves in the garage of pre-season favourites Mercedes this weekend as his team make final preparations for Sunday's 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

Back In The Force India Fold

We decided to highlight three drivers to watch, for different reasons, in the course of the weekend ahead. Yesterday it was seasoned Brazilian race-winner Felipe Massa; today we look at Germany’s Nico Hulkenberg.

Never go back, they say – but what would they know?

Nico Hulkenberg is back, and to him it feels like going back home – to the Force India team he represented in 2011 as a ‘third driver’ and in 2012 as a ‘proper’ occupant of a race seat.

'The Concept Of A Race Will Change Dramatically'

What the F1 teams and drivers are saying ahead of Sunday’s 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix

Dramatic change? That’s Ferrari’s Technical Director Pat Fry talking ahead of the first race of a new era in Formula 1.

New ‘powertrains’, restrictions on fuel consumption, complex systems – all will challenge teams and drivers, as Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso also acknowledges.
