Mazda3 Celebrity Challenge driver training kicks off at Sandown

The Mazda3 Celebrity Challenge driver training got underway at Sandown Raceway today with the celebrity drivers all itching to get behind the wheel of the All-New Mazda3, in preparation for the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

Mark Skaife and his team from Skaife Racing began the day with a simple car familiarisation exercise ensuring all seats and race harnesses were correctly fitted for each celebrity driver.

When Your Number's Up…

For the first time in many years, indeed decades, the 2014 drivers have been allowed to pick and choose their own racing numbers.

There are some interesting choices among the 22, which range from 1 to 99. This prompted a visit to the record books: what numbers have flourished, and which have not done so well, in World Championship history?

The competition heats up as the full Mazda3 Celebrity Challenge grid is revealed

Fresh from the Sochi snowfields, Aussie snowboarding World Champion Alex “Chumpy” Pullin is hoping his career successes in the snowboard cross will translate to a podium finish at the 2014 Mazda3 Celebrity Challenge, but not if pocket rocket radio presenter Maz Compton has anything to do with it.

Pullin and Compton have been named as the final two drivers to complete the celebrity race, which returns as a key support category of the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

Susie a lone Wolff in the world of Formula One

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation is thrilled to announce that Williams F1 Team development driver, Susie Wolff, will be a guest at the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix as an Official Ambassador.

The Scottish driver will be trackside at Albert Park throughout the week to soak up all the Formula One action and to attend various events, including the exclusive GP@23 Party at Crown Casino and the Official Grand Prix Breakfast function.

High demand for premium offering at GP

Top end hospitality for the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix is in high demand, with the most premium suite on circuit – new to the build this year – sold out with less than two weeks to go until the main race.

In 2013 corporate hospitality sales experienced one of the strongest results in recent years, in response a decision was made to expand the offering with two new first-class facilities for the 2014 event – the G.H Mumm Premium Suite and the Jones Premium Dining Suite.

Olympic Champion, Chef, Comedian and Presenters all raring to go for the Mazda3 Celebrity Challenge

What do a Winter Olympian, a Celebrity Chef, a Comedian, a Former Miss Universe Australia and a Getaway Presenter have in common? They have just been unveiled as the next batch of drivers to take to the grid at the Mazda3 Celebrity Challenge.

Lydia Lassila, Adam D’Sylva, Tommy Little, Scherri-Lee Biggs and Catriona Rowntree were announced this week with less than two weeks until the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix takes over Albert Park and the celebrities go head-to-head in the star-studded race.

‘It's Impossible To Say Where We Are…’

We began our review of the first Bahrain test with a comment from World Champion Sebastian Vettel, so perhaps it’s best to start with the Red Bull Renault ace again now that pre-season testing has come to an end with the final four-day session back in the same desert venue.

Digging through what teams and drivers say after days of difficult running is a bit like panning for gold: most of it you can take or leave but occasionally there is a nugget worth looking at more closely.

Grand Prix Breakfast not to be missed - Stewart, Webber, Horner and Hawk all confirmed

Sporting royalty including Sir Jackie Stewart, Mark Webber and Tony Hawk will headline an exceptional initial line up of guests for the 2014 Official Grand Prix Breakfast at Crown Melbourne.

Following the success of the inaugural Grand Prix Breakfast last year, interest from potential guests has been strong, with motorsport and entertainment elite set to take to the stage on the morning of Saturday 15 March.
