Australian Defence Force on the ground
The Australian Defence Force once again provided racegoers with an array of interactive ground displays at the 2017 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix. Team Army brought back their Project Digger and Armygeddon vehicles along with new vehicle TsunArmy, an insight into the people and purpose behind our Army and the opportunity to try out some cool equipment.
The Rising Suns rocked the Golf Course area, again proving popular with families and large numbers of general admission. The PEP Roving Band performed on the move, creating excitement and atmosphere in each area they travelled to.
The ADF were integral to the on track pre-Grand Prix entertainment, the Australian Army Band captivated the audience performing ‘We are Australian” and the Australian National Anthem.

This common love put on thrilling display at the 2017 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix, with exhilarating aerial displays planned by military aircraft; courtesy of the Royal Australian Air Force.
An F/A-18F Super Hornet fast jet, a C-17A Globemaster as well as the Pilatus PC-9A “Roulettes” aerial display team geared up to stun and awe at the Grand Prix with their highly trained personnel and highly effective aircraft.
