What is World Tour?

Apollo World Touring and Will Smith’s Westbrook Inc. have come together to co-produce World Tour, a new multi-artist, multi-genre event and content series staged in the world’s most iconic cities.

Each live event will feature internationally acclaimed A-list artists, locally celebrated superstars and globally recognised DJs. Fans will be able to engage globally through exciting content formats on multiple platforms.

World Tour kicks off in Melbourne, Australia, running alongside the Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2020. 

On Saturday 14 March, international superstar Robbie Williams will headline in his only Australian public performance of 2020, supported by Pete Murray and Seb Fontaine.

After Melbourne, World Tour will be touching down in other exciting world cities including Montreal, Berlin, Milan, Seoul, Taipei, Osaka and Miami. World Tour Melbourne is running alongside the Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2020. As well as being the FIA Formula 1 World Championship™ season opener, 2020 will mark a major milestone for the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix, as it is the 25th race held in Melbourne, making this the perfect year to stage the launch of a massive new music event series.

Transport Options

Trams

Getting to Gate 2: Take the Route 96 tram to St Kilda Beach and disembark at Stop 129, Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. On Saturday 14 March, trams run express from Spencer Street (corner Collins Street) to Gate 2. If you arrive at Southern Cross Station, simply follow the signage and staff directions to the tram stop.

Getting to Gate 4: Take the Route 12 GP tram to St Kilda along Collins Street and disembark at Stop 131, Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on Albert Road for Gate 3. From there, Gate 4 is a short walk to the east. If you arrive at Southern Cross Station, simply follow the signage and staff directions to the tram stop. On Saturday 14 March, trams run express from Spencer Street to City Road and then all stops to Gate 3. Trams run to an approximate frequency of 5-6 minutes during peak times.

Getting to Gates 8 and 10: The easiest way to reach Gates 8 and 10 is via the St Kilda Road trams. All St Kilda Road trams run via Stop 13, Flinders St Station/Swanston St (opposite Federation Square). The following trams can be used to reach the various gates at the circuit: 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, 72. Check ptv.vic.gov.au for further information on individual tram routes. Saturday 14 March trams run to an approximate frequency of 2 minutes during peak times between 4:30pm-8:30pm. Disembark at Stop 25, Commercial Rd for Gate 8 and Stop 30, St Kilda Junction for Gate 10.

Leaving the Venue

When leaving the site at the completion of the show, patrons will be exited out of Gate 3. From there you can access the following trams:

  • Routes 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 58, 64, 67 and 72 along St Kilda Rd.
  • Route 12 trams will not run after the event. Express buses will run from Gate 3 to the Arts Centre on St Kilda Rd after the event.

For up-to-date tram service information, download the tramTRACKER® App. Patrons travelling to the show will be required to have a valid myki to travel on trains, tram and buses. You can buy a myki and top up at hundreds of shops – including all 7-Elevens, your android phone via Google Pay, myki machines at train station and selected tram stops, online or by calling 1800 800 007.

Parking

World Tour Melbourne ticket holders (non-residents) are NOT be permitted to park close to Albert Park on event days. Special permits are required to enter selected residential areas near the circuit. Illegally parked vehicles will be subject to heavy fines and/or towaways.

If you need to drive, World Tour Melbourne ticket holders are encouraged to look at park-and-walk options, such as:

Uber

Head to the UberZONE on the south side of Albert Road between Gates 3 and 4 to request your ride.

Here, you can kick back, charge your phone and grab a water while an UberCONCIERGE connects you with your ride.

Please note, rides requested at World Tour Melbourne will incur a $5 event pick-up fee. This will go directly to the driver-partner to accommodate heavy congestion and wait times.

Limited free bus services will be available from the south side of Albert Road, just past Gate 4. These buses will shuttle patrons to the Arts Centre in Melbourne’s CBD, close to Flinders Street Station.

Accessibility Services

Accessible Trams

World Tour Melbourne ticket holders can take Tram 16 from Flinders Street Station to Gate 10, where they can access the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit and take an accessible shuttle to Lakeside Stadium.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available at Gate 10 in the Village Green Car Park. A permit must be obtained through the Australian Grand Prix Corporation in advance on (03) 9258 7100.

Accessible Shuttle Service

A free Accessible Shuttle Service operates within the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit to designated stops for patrons with limited mobility. This service can accommodate one companion/carer per patron. Priority will be given to patrons who pre-book the service from Monday 9 March 2020 by calling Wheelaway on 1800 133 320 or 0438 683 598.

It is highly recommended that if you require the free Accessible Shuttle Service that you book in advance so capacity can be forecast during peak arrival and departure periods of the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix. The Accessible Shuttle Service picks up and drops off at Gate 10. Bookings can also be made on the day by calling Wheelaway on 1800 133 320 or 0438 683 598.
