After securing just seven points in a difficult 2016 with Renault, Kevin Magnussen enjoyed better fortunes with American outfit Haas in 2017. Together with his teammate Romain Grosjean, they scored 47 Championship points, including a double points finish in Monaco.
Magnussen’s 2017 highlight was undoubtedly in Mexico, where he came from the last row of the grid to finish eighth, on a track he predicted to be one of his slowest.
The son of former Formula 1® driver and Le Mans winner Jan Magnussen, Kevin was a member of McLaren’s Young Driver Programme before graduating to claim a race seat in 2014, becoming the first rookie to drive for the team since Lewis Hamilton.
There are big wraps on Magnussen moving forward as he begins to fully realise his potential.
