Qualifying for the Coates Hire Supercars Challenge at the 2017 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix has been held as a four-part affair, with each 10-minute session counting towards the grid across this weekend's four races.
The first qualifier (to decide the grid for race one) saw Fabian Coulthard (Ford Falcon FG/X) come out on top ahead of Scott McLaughlin (FG/X), Tim Slade (Holden Commodore VF), Jamie Whincup (Commodore VF), David Reynolds (Commodore VF) and Chaz Mostert (FG/X).
The balance of qualifying panned out as follows:

5. Michael Caruso (Nissan Altima)
Qualifying three (race three grid):
5. James Courtney (Commodore VF)
Qualifying four (race four grid):
5. Rick Kelly (Altima)
6. Shane van Gisbergen (Commodore VF)
Race one over 30 minutes will be held at 1:50pm on Friday.
