Anticipation is building ahead of the release of Red Bull’s 2020 Formula 1® car, a vehicle Max Verstappen hopes can help him bridge the gap on Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
Verstappen finished third in the 2019 driver standings but was 135 points adrift of six-time world champion Hamilton in another Mercedes-dominated season. Bottas finished second.
Red Bull’s Honda-powered RB16 will be launched on Wednesday at Silverstone – the same day as Renault showcase their 2020 car.

Verstappen will be paired with Alex Albon in 2019, the 23-year-old hoping to improve on an impressive 2019 campaign in which he finished eighth in the race for the world title.
Albon was promoted from Toro Rosso to Red Bull after the Hungarian Grand Prix, with Daniil Kvyat going the other way.
Albon recorded eight top-six finishes from nine races after making the switch.
“As a team, we want to be able to fight for the title,” Verstappen recently told his website.
“We want to do well. Time will tell, because at this moment it is very difficult to say where we stand compared to the competition.
“But of course we are doing everything to take that step forward.
“We are on the right track … we will do our best to be better in 2020 … I hope that we can go for a podium every race this year.”
Formula 1®’s pre-season testing begins in Barcelona on February 19, ahead of the season-opening Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2020, which runs from March 12 to 15.
