F1® drivers and team principals
All 20 F1® drivers and 10 team principals will appear at the Formula 1® Season Launch. Once the stars of F1® arrive via boat on the Yarra River, they will walk through Federation Square’s Princes Walk and engage with fans, replicating the famous Melbourne Walk at the Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019.
Fans can get up close and personal with their favourite drivers and team principals at Princes Walk, saying hello and grabbing autographs and selfies. A one-hour live show will then take place on stage with Jessica Yates and former Australian F1® driver Mark Webber as hosts.
The best spots to catch all the drivers and team principals will be in the main Federation Square and riverside areas highlighted on the map.
The Formula 1® Season Launch features Australian and international music acts. DJ Mimi Velevska will open the event with a one-hour set, before an official Welcome to Country ceremony at 4:30pm AEDT.
After the F1® drivers and team principals have appeared on stage, the main music act of the evening, Australia’s Young Franco, will perform his hits ‘Drop Your Love’ and ‘Miss You’. Closing the event will be Justin Bieber’s official touring DJ, Tay James, as he hits the decks for a one-hour set of party tracks and mash-ups.
