How do I purchase tickets?

When on sale, tickets can be purchased through the following channels:

When is the event taking place?

The Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2020 will be held on 12-15 March 2020*.

Why is my seat number different in 2020?

If you were seated in the Brabham Grandstand or Jones Grandstand you will notice your seat number varies from 2019 during the Save Your Seat period.

Please note that your seat and view is the same, they have just been numbered differently for 2020.

How do I become a GP Advantage member in 2020?

To become a GP Advantage member, you must purchase a four-day Grandstand ticket or Three Champions Grandstand ticket prior to the end of the membership period and you will automatically become a GP Advantage member.

If you do not purchase during the dates below, you cannot upgrade to become a GP Advantage member.

  • GP Advantage Gold membership: 9:00am (AEST) 17 July 2019 until 11:59pm (AEST) 30 September 2019*
  • GP Advantage Silver membership: 12:00am (AEST) 1 October 2019 until 11:59pm (AEDT) 29 November 2019*

When does GP Advantage go on sale for 2020?

There are several different on-sale periods for the GP Advantage membership program, these are:

Save Your Seat 17 July – 5 August 2019*
Preferential Seat 6 August – 13 August 2019*
Public on-sale 15 August – 13 December 2019*

What is a four-day Grandstand ticket?

A four-day Grandstand ticket is a reserved seat for Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event. Each ticket also includes access to roaming Grandstand seats on Thursday, allowing you to access any Grandstand around the circuit.

What is the Three Champions Grandstand ticket?

The Three Champions Grandstand ticket is a reserved seat in three different grandstands across Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event. The name of the Three Champions Grandstand ticket indicates which Grandstand you will be sitting in on the Sunday of the event.

Each Three Champions Grandstand ticket also includes access to roaming Grandstand seats on Thursday, allowing you to access any Grandstand around the circuit.

What does Roaming Grandstand mean?

Roaming Grandstand means that you are able to access and experience any Grandstand around the track to enjoy the fantastic and unique view lines that each Grandstand can offer. You will be able to sit in any Grandstand seat that is available.

The Roaming Grandstand ticket offer is only available on Thursday. It comes complimentary for customers who purchase a four-day or Three Champions Grandstand ticket.

What is Save Your Seat?

2019 GP Advantage members have the opportunity to secure the same seat/s that they had in 2019 for the 2020 event. Members can purchase online or through the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline.

Save Your Seat is available from Wednesday 17 July until Monday 5 August 2019.

I am a 2019 GP Advantage member, how do I save my seat?

To save your seat for 2020, you can log in to your account by clicking here. You can use either your email address or your GP Advantage number and password. Alternatively, you can purchase by contacting our Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline. Click here for contact details and operating hours.

I no longer require all of my seats for 2020, how do I purchase only some of them during the Save Your Seat period?

To reduce the number of tickets you want to purchase for 2020, this can only be done my purchasing over the phone through our Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline. Click here for contact details and operating hours.

What is Preferential Seat?

For 2019 members who did not renew their seats during the Save Your Seat period, they will have the opportunity to purchase new tickets in a different location and/or add additional seats to their current tickets.

All seats that have not been purchased during the Save Your Seat period will be released to purchase for other members to buy during this period, before they go on sale to the general public. Members can purchase online or through our Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline on 1800 100 030.

Preferential seat is available from Tuesday 6 August until Tuesday 13 August 2019*.

What is a payment plan?

A payment plan is only available when purchasing a GP Advantage membership. You will be able to pay for your tickets in three (3) monthly instalments.

When will I receive my GP Advantage membership ticket?

For members that have opted to have their tickets sent to them, tickets will be sent via Australia Post (or UPS courier for international members) from November 2019 for Gold members and from February 2020 for Silver members.

Tickets will only be sent once full payment has been received. If there is a change in expected delivery time, this will be communicated to you via email. 

If you have changed your address after purchase or planning to move to a new home from 1 October 2019, please update your address in your account and also email gpadvantage@grandprix.com.au before 1 October 2019 with your new address to ensure your details are updated before your tickets are sent out.

Where can I collect my GP Advantage tickets at the circuit?

If you choose to collect your GP Advantage tickets at the circuit, these will be available from the GP Advantage Ticket Office located at Gate 1 only on event days. The opening dates and times will be confirmed closer to the event.

What is the age of a child in a Grandstand?

Children tickets are available in all Grandstands. These prices apply to children, who as of Thursday of the event are between two and fourteen (2-14) years of age inclusive.

Infants less than two (2) years of age are permitted to enter Grandstands free of charge as long as they do not take up a dedicated seat.

If you require a seat for your infant, you will be required to purchase a ticket for them for the seat they will occupy.

Are there Concession tickets for GP Advantage and Grandstands?

No. Grandstands are only available with Adult and Child ticket prices.

Can I pick my own seats?

Yes. If you are purchasing online, you can select your own seats if you are purchasing a four-day grandstand ticket.

I need to change the type of ticket I have from Child to Adult, how do I do this?

Does my GP Advantage membership automatically roll over each year?

No, GP Advantage membership does not automatically roll over each year. To renew your membership, you must purchase a four-day or Three Champions Grandstand ticket in the nominated period to become a member for the following year.

What is Thursday Pit Lane Walk #1 and how do I purchase tickets?

On Thursday 12 March 2020*, GP Advantage members get a chance to experience an additional Pit Lane Walk on Thursday afternoon and see the team garages first-hand.

This Pit Lane Walk is exclusively for GP Advantage members only and capped at a maximum of 1000 members, to allow members to experience the Pit Lane Walk with less crowds.

The cost of the Thursday Pit Lane Walk #1 is $39 and tickets can be purchased during the booking process when you are purchasing your Grandstand tickets. If you have already purchased your Grandstand tickets and would like to add this Pit Lane Walk #1 to your ticket, login to your GP Advantage account here or contact the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline on 1800 100 030 and quote your GP Advantage account number.

The time of the Thursday afternoon Pit Lane Walk will be emailed to you closer to the event time and will also be available on the GP Advantage FAQ on the website.

What is Thursday Pit Lane Walk #2 and how do I purchase tickets?

On Thursday 12 March 2020*, GP Advantage Silver members get a chance to go behind the scenes with a Pit Lane Walk on Thursday evening.

This Pit Lane Walk is exclusively for GP Advantage Silver members only and capped at a maximum of 1000 members, so members can experience the Pit Lane Walk with less crowds.

The cost of the Thursday Pit Lane Walk #2 is $10 and tickets can be purchased during the booking process when you are purchasing your Grandstand tickets. If you have already purchased your Grandstand tickets and would like to add this Pit Lane Walk #2 to your ticket, login to your GP Advantage account here or contact the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline on 1800 100 030 and quote your GP Advantage account number.

The time of the Thursday Evening Pit Lane Walk will be emailed to you closer to the event time and will also be available on the GP Advantage FAQ on the website.

What is the GP Advantage Members' Enclosure?

As a GP Advantage Gold member, you have access to an exclusive members-only facility with premium view lines of Walker Straight. The GP Advantage Members' Enclosure*, located next to Fangio Grandstand in Legends Lane, gives members a large outdoor area with your own super screen to enjoy the action, along with an indoor facility for you to relax. This facility, complete with bars, food vendors and live music, is one place you must visit, so be sure not to miss it!

The GP Advantage Members' Enclosure is exclusively for GP Advantage Gold members only in 2020.

For GP Advantage Silver members, there is a limited number of tickets to upgrade your ticket to the GP Advantage Members' Enclosure. The cost to upgrade to the GP Advantage Members' Enclosure for a four-day pass is $49, and tickets can be purchased during the booking process when you are purchasing your Grandstand tickets. If you have already purchased your Grandstand tickets and would like to add the GP Advantage Members' Enclosure to your ticket, log in to your GP Advantage account here or contact the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline on 1800 100 030 and quote your GP Advantage account number.

How do I purchase tickets to attend the GP Advantage Party?

We are currently planning the details for the 2020 GP Advantage Party. An invitation will be sent to GP Advantage members once these have been confirmed with the opportunity to purchase tickets to attend.

What is “early Melbourne Walk access” within the benefits?

By becoming a GP Advantage member, you get the opportunity to gain early access to the circuit on selected days before the general public. The selected days will be confirmed closer to the event.

Accessing the circuit before the public gives you the prime opportunity to position yourself strategically within Melbourne Walk and take full advantage of this unique interaction with F1® drivers as they arrive on track.

What is “Paddock Club Rooftop Viewing Deck Access” within the benefits?

GP Advantage members have the opportunity to access the Paddock Club Rooftop Viewing Deck on Thursday of the event to enjoy the magnificent views of the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit and the cars from the support categories as they fly down Walker Straight.

Access to the Paddock Club Rooftop Viewing Deck is via the south stairs adjacent to the Pit Lane queuing area of the Paddock Club building. Please note that there is NO ACCESS to the Paddock Club Hospitality Suites, access is only to the Rooftop Viewing Deck.

Since I purchased my ticket, my contact details have changed. How can I update my details?

You have the ability to manage your account and update any of your details at any time. From change of address, email or phone number you can log in to your account by clicking here and update your details accordingly.

If you have chosen Mail Delivery for your ticket/s, please also email gpadvantage@grandprix.com.au before 1 October 2019 with your new address to ensure your change of address is updated before your tickets are sent out.

How do I log in to my GP Advantage account?

You have the ability to manage your account and update any of your details at any time. For change of address, email or phone number you can log in to your account by clicking here and update your details accordingly.

What happens if I lose my GP Advantage membership ticket?

Contact the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline on 1800 100 030 with your purchase details and email gpadvantage@grandprix.com.au. Your original tickets will be cancelled.

Depending on when the tickets have been reported missing, tickets will either be sent out to you or made available for collection on event days by prior arrangement at the Gate 1 GP Advantage Ticket Office at the circuit.

A $10 fee will be charged for the reissuing of your tickets.
