2018 GP Advantage FAQ

When is the event taking place?

The 2018 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix is on 22-25 March 2018.

When will I receive my GP Advantage membership ticket?

For members that have opted to have their tickets sent to them, tickets will be sent via Australia Post (or UPS courier for international members).

GP Advantage Gold tickets were sent in November 2017.

GP Advantage Silver members will receive their tickets from 29 January 2018 onwards.

If you have changed your address, please email ticketing@grandprix.com.au as soon as possible.

Where can I collect my GP Advantage tickets at the circuit?

If you have chosen to collect your GP Advantage tickets at the circuit, they will be available from the GP Advantage Ticket Office located at Gate 1 during the following times:

Wednesday 21 March 2018 8.30am-5.30pm
Thursday 22 March-Saturday 24 March 2018 8.00am-5.30pm
Sunday 25 March 2018 8.00am-3.30pm

Please ensure you bring a valid form of ID to collect your ticket. If someone is collecting your ticket on your behalf, you must complete the Letter of Authorisation Form by clicking here and print it out to pass to your nominated person.

What are the Pit Lane Walk dates and times?

A Pit Lane Walk gives you a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of Formula 1®.

On Thursday 22 March 2018, GP Advantage members will get access to Pit Lane at the following times:

09:00-10:20* Pit Lane Walk 1 (Gold members only) 
14:00-14:30* Pit Lane Walk 2 (Gold members only)
19:15-20:00* Pit Lane Walk 3 (Gold and Silver members)

For Pit Lane Walk 1 (Behind the Scenes Day), the assembly point is located on the outfield side of the Main Straight overpass near Gate 1, indicated by the pink star below.

For Pit Lane Walks 2 and 3, the assembly point is located on the infield side of the Main Straight through Coates Hire Supercars Central, indicated by the blue star below.

Please ensure you arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time and are wearing your GP Advantage lanyard and ticket. Late arrivals may not be permitted to participate.

Access for Pit Lane Walk 1 (Behind the Scenes Day) is for GP Advantage Gold members only from 8.00am on Thursday 22 March via Gate 1 only on Canterbury Road. GP Advantage Gold members must show their GP Advantage Gold ticket and lanyard to gain early access for the Pit Lane Walk.

All GP Advantage Gold members must complete the Pit Lane Walk before access is opened for the Melbourne Walk viewing area, GP Advantage Members Enclosure and other facilities around the circuit.

What are the Main Straight Walk dates and times?

All GP Advantage members can experience the thrill and excitement of walking down the Main Straight over the weekend on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 March 2018.

Main Straight Walks are scheduled for the following times:

09:00-10:00* Saturday 24 March 2018 (Gold and Silver members)
08:55-09:55* Sunday 25 March 2018 (Gold members only)

The assembly point for the Main Straight Walk is located just before the Webber Grandstand, indicated by the yellow arrow path and star below. Please ensure you are wearing your GP Advantage ticket and lanyard and arrive early. Entry to the Main Straight will not be permitted after the advertised start times.

To access the circuit for the Main Straight Walk, GP Advantage Members must enter through Gate 1 only from 8.30am on Saturday 24 March 2018 (Gold and Silver members) and from 8.30am on Sunday 25 March 2018 (Gold members only).

All GP Advantage members must complete the Main Straight Walk before access is opened for the Melbourne Walk viewing area, GP Advantage Members Enclosure and other facilities around the circuit.

How do I purchase tickets to attend the GP Advantage Party?

The GP Advantage Party will be held on Friday 23 March 2018 at the GP Advantage Members Enclosure.

How do I get my complimentary Official Program?

GP Advantage Gold members are entitled to one complimentary Official Program per ticket. This year, instead of a voucher redemption, you can show your Gold lanyard and ticket at the GP Advantage Members Enclosure to receive your complimentary Official Program. Other locations to be announced soon.

How do I purchase tickets?

While GP Advantage membership has closed for 2018, regular tickets are still available for the 2018 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

Since I purchased my ticket, my contact details have changed. How can I update my details?

You have the ability to manage your account and update any of your details at any time. For change of address, email or phone number, you can log in to your account by clicking here and update your details accordingly.

What happens if I lose my GP Advantage membership ticket?

Contact the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline on 1800 100 030 with your purchase details. Your original tickets will be cancelled. Depending on when the tickets have been reported missing, tickets will either be sent out to you or made available for collection from the GP Advantage ticket office on event days. A fee may be charged for the reissuing of your tickets.

Can I become a GP Advantage member if I purchase after 30 November 2017?

GP Advantage membership is only available for 4-Day or Three Champions Grandstand tickets purchased before 11.59pm 30 November 2017 (AEDT). There is no opportunity to upgrade to GP Advantage after this date.

How do I become a GP Advantage member?

To become a GP Advantage member you must purchase a 4-Day Grandstand ticket or Three Champions Grandstand ticket prior to the end of the membership period, and you will automatically become a GP Advantage member. If you do not purchase during the dates below, you cannot upgrade to become a GP Advantage member.

  • GP Advantage Gold membership: 9.00am 1 May until 11.59pm 31 July 2017 (AEST)
  • GP Advantage Silver membership: 12.00am 1 August (AEST) until 11.59pm 30 November 2017 (AEDT)
When does GP Advantage go on sale for 2018?

GP Advantage membership has closed for 2018. GP Advantage membership on-sale dates for 2019 will be confirmed closer to the event.

What is a 4-Day Grandstand ticket?

The 4-Day Grandstand ticket is a reserved seat Grandstand ticket for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event. The ticket also includes access to Roaming Grandstand seats on Thursday, allowing you to access any Grandstand around the circuit.

What is a Three Champions Grandstand ticket?

The Three Champions Grandstand ticket is a reserved seat Grandstand ticket in three different Grandstands each day on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event. The name of the Three Champions Grandstand ticket indicates which Grandstand you will be sitting in on the Sunday of the event.

The Three Champions Grandstand ticket also includes access to Roaming Grandstand seats on Thursday, allowing you to access any grandstand around the circuit.

What does Roaming Grandstand mean?

Roaming Grandstand means you are able to access and experience any Grandstand around the track to enjoy the fantastic and unique view lines that each Grandstand can offer. You will be able to sit in any Grandstand seat that is available. 

The Roaming Grandstand ticket offer is only available on Thursday. It comes complimentary for customers who purchase a 4-Day or Three Champions Grandstand ticket.

What is Save Your Seat?

All 2017 members will have the opportunity to secure the same seat/s that they had in 2017 for the 2018 event. Members will be sent an email advising them when they can purchase their seat/s. Members can purchase online or through our call centre.

The 2018 Save Your Seat period has now closed. The 2019 Save Your Seat period will be confirmed closer to the event.

What is Preferential Seat?

For 2017 members who did not purchase their tickets during the Save Your Seat period, they will have the opportunity to purchase new tickets in a different location. All seats that have not been purchased during the Save Your Seat period will be released to purchase for other members to buy during this period. Members can purchase online or through the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline.

The 2018 Preferential Seat period has now closed. The 2019 Preferential Seat period will be confirmed closer to the event.

What is the age of a child in a Grandstand?

Children’s tickets are available in all Grandstands. These prices apply to children, who as of Thursday of the event are between 2-14 years of age inclusive.

Infants less than two years of age are permitted to enter Grandstands free of charge, as long as they do not take up a dedicated seat.

If you require a seat for your infant, you will be required to purchase a ticket for them and the seat they will occupy.

I need to change the type of ticket I have as I am no longer a child, how do I do this?

To change your ticket type from a child to an adult, you need to contact the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline. Click here for contact details and operating hours.

Are there Concession tickets for GP Advantage and Grandstands?

No. Grandstands are only available with Adult and Child ticket prices.

Does my GP Advantage membership automatically roll over each year?

GP Advantage membership does not automatically roll over each year. To renew your membership, you must purchase a 4-Day or Three Champions Grandstand ticket in the nominated period to become a member for the following year.

What are the benefits of becoming a GP Advantage member?

What is “early Melbourne Walk access” within the benefits?

By becomng a GP Advantage member, you get the opportunity to gain early access to the circuit on selected days before the general public. The selected days are dependent on the type of membership you have. Accessing the circuit before the public gives you the prime opportunity to position yourself strategically at Melbourne Walk and take full advantage of this unique interaction with F1® drivers as they arrive at the circuit.

What is a payment plan?

A payment plan is only available when purchasing a GP Advantage membership. You will be able to pay your tickets in three monthly instalments.

Can I pick my own seats?

Yes. If you are purchasing online, you can select your own seats if you are purchasing a 4-Day Grandstand ticket. If you want to pick your own seats and want to purchase a Three Champions Grandstand ticket, please contact the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline on 1800 100 030.
