Melbourne will retain its season-opening status on the FIA Formula 1 World Championship™ provisional calendar, with the first race of the 2021 season scheduled to be held at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit on Sunday 21 March 2021*.
The Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix 2021 event dates are 18-21 March 2021*, which are set to be formally ratified by the FIA in coming weeks.
While the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix is confirmed for 2021, the event will look very different next year and, due to the current COVID-19 environment, we regret to announce the GP Advantage program will not go ahead in 2021.
To abide by new and evolving COVIDSafe measures, including social distancing guidelines, it is not possible to run the GP Advantage program and its usual benefits in 2021, including Save Your Seat.
At this stage, grandstands at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit will undergo significant changes to facilitate social distancing in 2021, which will result in a different layout to previous years.
Our intention is for you to be able to Save Your Seat from 2020 in 2022^ but, given the circumstances, this is subject to change and details will be confirmed after the 2021 event.
While the GP Advantage program will not go ahead in 2021, we are pleased to confirm that – as a GP Advantage member in 2020 – you will have priority access to purchase Grandstand tickets for the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix 2021.
Ticket on-sale dates will be confirmed and shared with you in the coming weeks and months.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work towards bringing a COVIDSafe Formula 1® back to Melbourne in 2021.
*Subject to final FIA approval.
^While it is our intention for you to be able to Save Your Seat from 2020 in 2022, this is subject to change and not guaranteed.
