Biography

George Russell looks like the kind of person who arrives 15 minutes early, has colour-coded notes and knows exactly where he left his car keys. Then the visor goes down and he starts driving a Formula 1® car like he's late for an appointment.

Since making his Formula 1® debut at the Australian Grand Prix in 2019, Russell has established himself as one of the grid's sharpest and most complete drivers.

Long before he was fighting at the front, Russell was dubbed "Mr Saturday" for his remarkable qualifying performances, regularly dragging cars further up the grid than seemed possible. The nickname stuck – and for good reason.

What makes Russell fascinating is the contrast. Off the track, he's polished, articulate and measured. On it, he's fiercely competitive, relentlessly ambitious and never afraid to go wheel-to-wheel with some of the legends of the sport.

From his emotional rise through Williams to race victories in silver, Russell's Formula 1® journey has been built on talent, resilience and an unwavering belief that he belongs at the front. He might look like the class captain of Formula 1®, but don't let that fool you. George Russell is every bit as ruthless as the drivers he's chasing.
