The Australian Defence Force is proud to support this year’s Formula 1® Heineken® Australian Grand Prix with aerial and ground displays by Navy, Army, Air Force and Defence Force Recruiting.
On the ground will be the Air Force Balloon, Team Army’s supercharged project cars, M1 Abrams Tank, Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle and M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier, a Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat crewed by members of HMAS Cerberus, the Australian Defence Force Academy Formula SAE Racing Team, and ADF Drone Racing. You will also be able to try your hand at a flight simulator and interact with the Defence Force Recruiting display.
Not only will you be able to see a range of Defence technological capabilities up close, but also chat to the highly trained ADF personnel who operate them.

Melbourne University Racing (MUR) Motorsports brings together a diverse cohort of University of Melbourne students to design, build and race Formula SAE cars, every year - from scratch. The team consists of over 70 engineers, ranging in experience from first-year undergraduates to final year Master’s students.
We are the biggest engineering student team at the university and compete against other universities around the world. 2022 marks an exciting journey and will see us designing a new electric vehicle and continuing development on the team’s first autonomous electric FSAE vehicle.
Students involved with MUR gain invaluable skills applicable to professional life beyond university studies.

FIA Girls on Track returns on Thursday 7th April. 20 girls (aged 15-25 years) will be selected to directly engage and network with our ambassadors, champions, and other women in motorsport across a range of professions. Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based organisation, providing emergency assistance to minimise the impact of emergencies and strengthen the community’s capacity to plan, respond and recover when emergencies occur.
We are the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami, earthquake and landslide throughout Victoria, and provide the largest Road Crash Rescue network in Australia, with specialist teams in 104 of our 150 units across the state.
The Grand Prix provides a great opportunity for VICSES volunteers to engage with the community to deliver our key messages and educate them on how to prepare for emergencies.
