Porsche Carrera Cup

Get ready to Live Fast

The new Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup season kicks off at Albert Park on the support program for the Formula 1® Heineken® Australian Grand Prix 2022 in what promises to be the best season in the category’s history.

A record 31-car entry has been lodged for the event, with drivers keen to come to grips with the brand-new Porsche 992 model for the first time.

A group of young drivers is led by Cameron Hill and the rapid Cooper Murray, who are expected to be challenged in the Pro class by the likes of Harri Jones and Max Vidau.

One of the new drivers in the series is Luke Youlden, the 2017 Bathurst 1000 winner, and he will face stiff competition in the form of long-time Carrera Cup pilots like 2017 champion David Wall, Dale Wood and Dylan O’Keeffe, who raced in the series previously, winning the Darwin round in 2018 and finishing third overall a year later.

A couple of Porsche veterans are returning to the series. Tony Quinn, who drove in the original series in 2003, is back, while Rodney Jane will return to the cockpit of a Porsche for the first time in a decade, in the familiar colours of Bob Jane T-Marts.

Meanwhile young gun Aaron Love will make a one-off return to the championship at Albert Park before he heads off to Europe to compete in Porsche Carrera Cup France with the Martinet by Almeras team.

Action on Thursday with practice and Qualifying ahead of four races over the following three days.
