Sparking joy for people with disability and their loved ones.

Unlocking inclusive access at the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2026 creating experiences that build confidence and sparks joy for people with disability and their loved ones.

Delivered across two days at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit™, Albert Park Unlocked focused on breaking down barriers and expanding how the Grand Prix™ can be experienced. It enabled participants to engage with the event confidently, connect with people and access environments that are not typically available to the public.

Led by the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC), in collaboration with the What Ability Foundation and supported by key stakeholders, inclusive design was embedded across every aspect of delivery. From planning through to on-the-ground coordination, accessibility was built into the event experience, supporting participants to navigate, participate and engage with greater ease.

Across Friday and Saturday, 471 participants took part in 36 curated experiences that unlocked different elements of the event.  From enjoying the Inclusive Pit Lane Experience and Formula 1® Paddock access, to Supercars garages tour and meeting drivers, participants were immersed in moments often only experienced from afar

Albert Park Unlocked demonstrated how major events can be intentionally designed to open up access. Dedicated infrastructure and collaborative support ensured participants could explore the event safely, comfortably and with confidence.

The impact of the program is best reflected in the voices of those who experienced it:

‘It was the experience of a lifetime and means more than anyone would know… every single day Arlo still talks about it.’

‘I felt very privileged to have been part of it… there was no other way I could have possibly been there.’

‘For people like me who would otherwise never have the chance to attend, it was incredible.’

These moments highlight how Albert Park Unlocked extended the impact of the Grand Prix™, unlocking moments of connection, excitement and discovery that continue well beyond race week.

With hundreds of meaningful moments created and a strong focus on inclusive participation, this program shows how accessibility, when embedded by design, can transform how people engage with major events.

Albert Park Unlocked is a powerful reminder that while motorsport is defined by performance and precision, its impact grows when access is expanded.
