Aussie talent Heuzenroeder called up for Campos F3™ test
Tuesday, 10 February 2026
An eleventh-hour driver change sees an Australian talent step into the fold as the FIA Formula 3® field hits the track in Spain.
Campos Racing will be present this week for the three days of official pre-season testing organized by FIA Formula 3® at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The tests, which will get underway on Tuesday and conclude on Thursday, will see all three Campos Racing cars on track. However, the team has been forced to introduce a last-minute change to its driving line-up due to force majeure circumstances.

Ernesto Rivera, who has already been confirmed alongside Ugo Ugochukwu and Théophile Naël for the 2026 FIA Formula 3® season, will be unable to take part in driving duties on this occasion. Rivera is still recovering from back pain sustained during the final round of the Formula Regional Oceania Trophy in New Zealand.
As a result, Australian driver Patrick Heuzenroeder will join Ugochukwu and Naël for the Barcelona test. Heuzenroeder, who will compete in Eurocup-3 this year representing GriffinCore Campos Racing, will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience at the wheel of the Formula 3® car.
The session will allow the young Aussie to contribute to fine-tuning the car set-up alongside his team-mates and engineers. It marks a significant opportunity for the Sydney-born racer to showcase his pace within the international paddock.
Following the conclusion of the Barcelona tests, the focus will shift to the final preparations for the season opener.
