Highly regarded Melbourne businessman John O’Rourke will join the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) Board, bringing his extensive private sector board experience and background in development and infrastructure.
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events the Hon. Martin Pakula announced that Mr O'Rourke has accepted a position on the Board for a three-year term.
O’Rourke is the founder and Chairman of Plenary, an international property and infrastructure investment company specialising in Public-Private Partnerships.
“It’s a great honour to join the Australian Grand Prix Corporation Board, especially ahead of what is sure to be a phenomenal return to Albert Park this April for the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix,” said Mr O’Rourke.
“I look forward to working alongside the esteemed members of the Board, and to developing new strategies in alignment with the Victorian Government to expand the reach and impact of our two exceptional events.”
AGPC Chairman Paul Little AO is thrilled to welcome Mr O’Rourke to the Board and believes his depth of knowledge will be invaluable.
“His extensive experience will be an incredible asset as we continue our work to make the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix and the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix remain the world-leading motorsport events,” said Mr Little.
