Thursday, 4 July 2024

The 17-year-old will take to Silverstone this weekend.

Hitech Pulse-Eight announced overnight that Australian James Wharton will make his FIA Formula 3® debut at the British Grand Prix™ this weekend.

Wharton is participating in the Formula Regional European Championship. After four rounds, he has two podium finishes and two pole positions to his name, and he is currently sixth in the Drivers’ Standings.

The Melbourne-born driver has had a strong karting career, which started in 2011, before graduating to single-seaters at the Italian F4 Championship in 2022.

Wharton won the Formula 4 UAE Championship in 2023 and finished runner-up in the Euro 4 Series in the same year.

Practice starts at 5:40 PM (AEST) on Friday afternoon (Melbourne time), where Wharton will take to the track for the first time.
