DC's Batman set to take over Albert Park

Thursday, 8 February 2024

The first of its kind in Australia, a new partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products will see the family zone of the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2024 transformed into an extension of the DC Universe.

The reimagined family zone will be known as Pit Stop Park Powered by DC Super Heroes, debuting as Warner Bros. Discovery celebrates 85 Years of DC’s BATMAN™.

Iconic and globally renowned, The Caped Crusader first appeared in 1939’s Detective Comics #27, and since then, it has been seen in comics, TV shows, cartoons, and movies.

The Dark Knight has stood as a symbol of determination, courage, and justice to generations of fans alongside DC Super Heroes, including SUPERMAN and WONDER WOMAN.

“In 2024, we’re inviting fans from every generation to celebrate BATMAN’s 85th anniversary,” said Andrew Bromell, Vice President, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products ANZ.

“BATMAN is a Super Hero for all ages, and we are ecstatic to see BATMAN come to life through DC Universe inspired activations at this year’s Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix”

“Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be celebrating 85 years of DC’s BATMAN with the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix. With Melbourne’s very own 1966 Batmobile replica onsite at the event, fans of all ages will get to experience the DC franchise in a whole new way through this action-packed and Australian first partnership.”

Located on the golf course near turn 9 of the circuit, Pit Stop Park Powered by DC Super Heroes will be home to entertainment for everyone from toddlers to teens to the young at heart.

A Gotham City climbing wall, giant BATMAN slide and a Batmobile will be the show-stopping highlights, while craft and play stations, obstacle courses, and roving DC characters will keep the crowd entertained for hours.

Jacqui Felgate was on-site to help launch the partnership, announcing also that she would be an Ambassador for the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2024.

“I’m thrilled to be coming on board as one of the Ambassadors of the Australian Grand Prix, and my kids and I can’t wait to see the new Pit Stop Park Powered by DC Super Heroes,” Felgate said.

“There’s less than 50 days to go until lights out here at Albert Park, and the excitement is ramping up. Along with the BATMAN activations, I know there’ll be a huge amount for families to see and do around the circuit, both on and off the track.”

After record-breaking attendance in 2023, demand for tickets to the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2024 remains high, with grandstands for all days and Saturday and Sunday Park Pass sold out.

Limited Park Pass tickets remain for Thursday and Friday, with prices starting at just $45, and kids under 14 able to attend free with a paying adult.
