Major fan experience upgrades for the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2026
Monday, 22 December 2025
Fans can expect a number of significant improvements across the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit in 2026, with a focus on enhancements to crowd movement, accessibility, and trackside viewing at the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2026.
At the centre of these upgrades is the construction of a new overpass, a significant leap forward in infrastructure. At triple the size of the original structure, the new overpass, located by Gate 1, will help to deliver a 56 percent increase in site-wide overpass capacity from 2025, ensuring smoother crowd movement during the event.
Built with 234 tonnes of structural steel manufactured locally in Melbourne, the overpass will be the result of a meticulous four-month fabrication process.
To complement the new overpass, the Albert Park Lake will house a brand-new pontoon structure to replace the original, in addition to the second pontoon structure which was added for the 2025 event. Both upgrades will improve pedestrian access and create a more seamless flow around key areas of the circuit.
The opening of ANZAC Station is set to further transform the way fans arrive at Albert Park, with a significant increase in pedestrian volumes expected through Gate 5 via Albert Rd. Foot traffic through Gate 5 is expected to double, repositioning it as one of the most used entry and exit points across the circuit.
Also launching in 2026 is the Clubhouse, an all-new elevated viewing experience, positioned on the Albert Park Golf Course overlooking Turn 8. Race day tickets to this facility sold out within minutes, further demonstrating the incredible demand.
Limited tickets across a range of products are still available for Thursday and Friday.
