Mark Webber talks all things Formula 1® on new podcast

Tuesday, 7 July 2020

Dedicated to the world of Formula 1® and MotoGP™.

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation podcast In the Fast Lane has released its second episode with special guest, nine-time Formula 1® Grand Prix winner Mark Webber.

Webber joins In The Fast Lane co-hosts Matt Clayton and Michael Lamonato to discuss the ups and downs of the first race of the season in Austria, Sebastian Vettel's future, Daniel Ricciardo's move to McLaren and a fantastic Formula 3 victory for young Australian Oscar Piastri.

Speaking about Vettel’s relationship with Ferrari since not re-signing for 2021, Webber was clear the relationship is over, and that he was disappointed Daniel didn’t take his spot in red.

“The relationships gone, chemistry is gone, marriage is over. Sebastian is dressed in red, he’s driving a red car but he’s there for himself. The Seb scenario, the sooner that’s over the better for everyone concerned,” Webber said.

“Daniel will be happy looking at McLaren’s performance right now. It’s good for McLaren and good for him… but I think we all wanted the Ferrari move to happen,” he continued.

Webber was excited to speak about Australian Formula 3 driver, Oscar Piastri and his win in the first Formula 3 race this weekend.

“Oscar has tremendous composure, from when he puts the helmet on, he has a little killer instinct and is an uber intelligent young lad… it’s been a very impressive week for him,” he said.

The fortnightly podcast is available on Spotify, Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts platforms as well as being uploaded to AGPC’s official YouTube channels.
