Albert Park set for four days of world-class action as 2026 schedule lands

The official track program has been revealed for the season opener, featuring a packed lineup of Formula 1®, junior categories, and local favorites.
The official on-track schedule for the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2026 has been released, delivering four days of world-class motorsport action at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit. From Thursday to Sunday, fans can enjoy a packed program of entertainment, headlined by Formula 1® and supported by Formula 2®, Formula 3®, the Supercars Championship, and Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.
David Corrigan, Australian Grand Prix Corporation Division Manager – Motorsport, says there is a unique energy surrounding this year's event. “There’s nothing quite like that first race of the season, especially this year being the first official opportunity to see the new F1® cars, teams and regulations in action. The schedule is packed with plenty of unmissable on-track entertainment with something for every motorsport fan as Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit comes to life.”

The action begins on Thursday, with competitive sessions across multiple categories setting the tone for the weekend. Featuring predominantly Australian premier motorsport categories like Supercars and Porsche Carrera Cup, the day will also include a nostalgic addition to the lineup to be announced soon, spanning multiple decades of racing history.
Friday marks a historic moment as Formula 1® takes to the track for its first official session of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship season. Fans will get their first look at the new machinery built to updated technical regulations as they hit the circuit for practice. Key qualifying sessions for Formula 2® and Formula 3®, along with continued sprint racing from Supercars, will round out a massive day.
Saturday promises to be one of the most intense days of the weekend, headlined by the all-important Formula 1® qualifying session to set the grid for Sunday. Sprint races for the international junior categories will ensure continuous wheel-to-wheel action throughout the day.
The weekend reaches its pinnacle on Sunday as anticipation builds for race day.
