Alpine has announced that they will be making a decision regarding Oscar Piastri and Fernando Alonso’s futures around the British Grand Prix in July according to Motorsport.com
Esteban Ocon is contracted until 2024, but the French manufacturer needs to make an important call on who will be his teammate next year.
Piastri will be desperate to make his F1® debut next year and It’ll be up to Alpine to assist him with finding a spot.
“Around Silverstone, we will probably be talking about it," said Otmar Szafnauer – Alpine F1® Team Principal.
Alonso appears to want to continue racing in the team, likely forcing Piastri to look elsewhere for his highly-anticipated F1® debut.
Williams has shaped up to be a likely candidate for his services and would be a great team for the Aussie to hone his craft without significant pressure.

Nicholas Latifi has so far struggled to keep pace with Alex Albon at Williams, placing him at risk of losing his F1® drive.
Whichever way this plays out, Piastri simply needs to get on the grid next year and start displaying the talent that has taken him to three-consecutive championships in the lower Formulas.
