The FIA Formula 2 Championship™ has come down to the final round with Australian young gun Oscar Piastri holding a healthy lead in the title fight.
With only 65-points on offer and three races remaining, Piastri only needs a few more points to extend his 51.5-point lead and be crowned champion.

The PREMA Racing driver leads his teammate Robert Shwartzman (162-points) and Guanyu Zhou (149-points).
If Piastri does manage to win, he will join George Russell and Charles Leclerc in winning back-to-back F3®/GP3 and F2® titles. On paper, Piastri can achieve a hat-trick, going above what Russell and Leclerc earned after winning the 2018 Formula Renault Eurocup.
“It would be silly if I wasn’t coming in and trying to get that third title,” he said.
“Even if it was set to be my first title ever, I would be silly not to try and get it. It would certainly be a CV booster.”
All eyes will be on qualifying at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, where four points are on offer for the fastest driver.
Australian (AEDT) times for each Formula 2® session are as follows:
- Free Practice: Friday, 6:30 pm
- Qualifying: Saturday, 1:30 am
- Sprint Race 1: Saturday, 7:20 pm
- Sprint Race2: Sunday, 1:45 am
- Feature Race: Sunday 8:00 pm
